Winter Weather And Le Marche Property Market

So far this Autumn and still now with coming into Winter the weather all over Le Marche has been fantastic. While other parts of Italy have experienced heavy rainfall Le Marche has escaped the seasonal downturn youassociatewith this time of year. Last Saturday I was sitting outside my favourite beach bar in Porto san Giorgio in a T shirt and in temperatures of 23C only at night do the temperatures start to take a fall!! Seemingly week in and week out the Summer does not seem to want to let go this year but it can only be a matter of time before the frosts and mists of Winter are here.

The new residents from outside Italy who have bought properties this year and are now living in Le Marche have had a wonderful year in which to establish themselves in their new homes. But things do change here in the Winter and they should expect the cold to be as bad if not worse than in the UK for some of the Winter season. The dry but piercing cold seems much more biting than in the UK and also during January and february many days are spent with a thick sea fog which blankets the coast and coastal plain. But unlike the UK the Winter here only really takes hold in December and is all but gone by April.

Speaking again to my Italian contacts in the various areas of Le Marche that I visit frequently the property market is now firmly in the grip of its own Winter! Things have slowed down to a complete halt in the Italian home market only foreign buyers seem to be still active in the property market and they too are becoming a rarity as the Christmas season approaches. At this time of year clients and visitors who come to Le Marche to view properties are usually extremely serious about buying a new home or investment in Italy. At other times of the year somevisitors are not too serious about buying and indeed some are only really interested in sightseeing! Picking the serious buyer from the less interested enquirer takes some time and skill to get right.

Today was another fabulous day in Senigallia and all of central Le Marche and the sea was a fantastic blue colour darkening gradually as he Winter sun weakens in the sky. Le Marche is a very beautiful region of Italy with its long Adriatic coastline flat plains and the Sibillini Mountains to the west runiing from North to South. But at this time of year and it really does offer all of Italy in one region!
